One-of-a-kind A Place to Grow® play areas sprouted across the country at Mills malls nationwide. These licensed interactive play-and-learn areas for children were based on the award-winning book of the same name. Designed by the internationally esteemed Kiku Obata & Company, these imaginative enrichment zones were designed to stimulate exploration, spark creativity, promote learning, and nurture growth.
A Place to Grow® contained two age-appropriate play
areas. The soft play area, created for the 2 to 4 set,
incorporated the book's charming garden
and meadow environments and populated them with story's
whimsical, oversized characters, including a giant cricket,
ants, millipedes, earthworms, caterpillars, and the star
of A Place to Grow, "Tiny" the seed. For the 5
to 8 crowd, touch-screen computer kiosks housed in larger-than-life
vegetables brought the seed's exciting journey and inspirational
adventure to life.
In addition, several very special A Place to Grow® homes were built throughout the country by Habitat for Humanity in those cities where a play area was originally launched because every "tiny seed" deserves a safe and nurturing place to grow. Growth is in the journey! |
